Instrument cluster change

I have a 2003 tl base I want to change my instrument cluster with a s type one. I asked a guy selling one on eBay and he said that it would not work on a base model. I think he is full of it I can't see why it would not work

I think it'll work. I went from a type s to a base model because I hated the silver backing of the typ s and I haven't had any problems

^ sort of.

The gauges will all work just fine. The thing that will be off is the VSA/TCS. Those are in different spots and the tl-p doesnt have vsa

It isn't plug and play (as some lights wont work) thus the seller wont say it will work.

NO YOU DIDNT!! Why would anyone like the tasteless all black instrument panel over the sporty looks of the Type-S dash??? Its like having an M3 and switching the instrument panel to the 325i.

I cannot stress enough how sad and ugly the TL-p instrument panel looks to me, Type-S made the whole difference in the dealership back in the day. I swear that if it had the same panel I would not be driving this car...

I'm sure most of us actually prefer the "S" panel if given the choice !!!
