Installing screens into the sun visors...
Has anyone done this? I have gotten the mirrors/lights out and got the fabric off but now I am wondering how I am going to run the wires. I know that I could jsut dremmel a little trail for the wires to go through in the visor so that I don't have to take it apart but where I am stuck is how I am going to get the wires to go through the metal arm. Anyone got any bright ideas?

Actually, we are finishing them up today and I am going to mount them in my car until the people from the upholstery call me and tell me that the fabric they had to order has arrived. So I will take pics with them installed tonight. I actually hooked them up last night to see how they looked and since I had 4 tv's coming off of one RCA hookup the screens weren't looking good so we went and got a RCA amplifier and hpefully that will fix the issue. More pics soon!

It didn't cost me anything as of yet. The only costs that I am going to have are having the visors recovered. The upholstery shop told me $35 each visor for labor and $13 for a yard of the material they are going to use. So $83 is how much this project is costing me. And a shit load of time because we just fried the infrared port on the right visor because we took it off the circuit board so that we could extend it and put it wherever we wanted it and I must have held the soldering gun on it too long and fried somthing inside it. So we are either going to have to take apart some old VCR/DVD player or hope like hell that radioshack had something I can use so that we can transplant it into the right visor. I will have two different IR ports sticking out but no one will ever notice except for me. I got the driver's side hooked up and running so I will take pics tonight when you can see it better!

Ok here is the best shot I could get before my camera died. I only have the driver side visor installed right now bc the passenger side still has to undergo serious surgery. But they work great. We are installing a RCA amplifier tomorrow because right now I have 4 tv's running off of one rca jack so the signal is getting kind of weak and the screens have lines running though them. So that will all be done by the end of the weekend and then next week I am taking them to the shop to get recovered!! Weeeee....

thanks... I was going to get the back up camera/tv in the rear view mirror but decided that was a little bit more overkill than I already have so opted out on the idea.

headrests cost $400 in the headrest and everything for both of them... 400ish shipped. Circuit City charged me 100 to install them. The visors I didn't pay for but I can get a set of visors for around 80-90$

Finally Installed!!
Ok, well after the initially problems of how to get the wires from inside the visor to inside the car and after cutting away too much of the plastic and having to bondo up the parts that I thought weren't need but were I finally got them installed into the visors. After we got them mounted we had a problem with interference. Whenever the car was off they looked perfect but once the car was on they would get all of these waves in them and if you stepped on the gas pedal at all you could barely see the picture. Anyways, we figured out that the alternator was causing the interference and we had to splice into a different power source. We were splicing into the power wire that was coming straight from the battery to the head unit but then we were wondering why the headunit was playing clearly but the visors weren't. Then we noticed this little box on the wire:
Once we saw the box we figured it might some type of interference eliminator so we tried splicing into the wire after it and what do you know. Clean picture even when revving the engine!! The visors are going to the upholstery shop Monday morning and then I am picking them up Tuesday afternoon so I am very excited! I will def post pics once they are covered but here is what they look like now with the duct tape holding them in right now. Ghetto fabulous!!

Prick of the month
Ah, I see it now. Great job, looks like you won't be needing the LED replacement bulbs for them now, and after I went through all the trouble of finding them...
