First you have to take off your old tips obviously, and then put in the new ones...Just unscrew the 3 screws so u can get em in the tailpipe and push it to the end. Then just tighten the screws.

I know how they look like...I have them too, I'm just not sure why u are confused about it. You can take them then slide in the new tips then put them back on with the screws...U are supposed to use them as support for your tips then put the screw over it and screw it in.

Hey,

thanks again for helping me. Ok. the reason why I ask you that is b/c I'm looking at the screws right now and I see that the screw all screw all the way in and is still not protruding over the u shape bracket. I wish I could attach a pic for you to see. Hang on..maybe I figure this out and put a pic for you to see.

For those of you that have already installed these tips, are you getting any rattling or extra noise from them? I ask because they look like they mount all the way towards the back. Any rattling noise from the inside pipe hitting the tips? And did you guys paint the inside pipes black before installing the tips?

Don't worry, as long as you screw them tight, no rattles at all.

Bluedemon73, those U shaped brackets are what will tighten against the (stock) tailpipe. You need to loosen the screws holding the U brackets, and then, because 2 of the U brackets are on top, you need to hold the bracket up as you slide the new exhaust tip over the tailpipe. Get it all nice and even, then tighten the screws on the U bracket just so they are snug, or you may strip them. People on here have said they are soft metal. If you are still having problems, let us know.
I didn't paint my tailpipes black. Looks fine like it is... you really have to get down and look inside to see them. No rattles, either. Just looks nice.

I had no problem installing them - you need to use Blue Threadlocker to make sure the bolts don't back out I found that they had loosened up a lot after a few days - once I "locked" them there have been no problems or noises whatsoever.

Bluedemon73 just do what they said, back out all 3 bolts, till you have enough room to slip it on your exhaust pipe, then tighten all 3 evenly....

Removing the stock tips first offcoarse

I just installed my new 3A tips. They make no rattling noises at all. I did, however, manage to strip one of the bolts but havent done anything about it. I didnt use threadlocker or anything like that, so i might take them back off at a later time. IMO, they look really nice with this car. It makes the TLS look more aggressive. Ill post pics for ya all in a few days( im a lazy guy, so ill post whenever i get around to it). One more thing; make sure u have a good socket wrench set to remove the stock tips, i broke not one, but TWO sockets before i finally was able to remove the stock tips. Chromidium alloy my a$$!!

TypeSDragon,

Your car shines more than the tips. Not fair.

The hardest part is making the uneven exhaust "appear" straight.

CO-TLS,

My tips is the slanted one I got from here. Did you have a hard time making it straight?

I used plastic ties. I tied them around the back exhaust hanger, and a part on the car.
Then I pulled both the mufflers in and up, now mine are perfectly even

Try that

yes i did have a hard time getting the tips straight, especially since i stripped one of the bolts. In the end, i just got them as straight as i could. They look perfect but the black pipe that the tips fit over is resting against the inside wall of the tips so when looking from close up, they appear to be crooked. But after a few days the exhaust caused the inside of the tips to become black, which makes it all but impossible to see the muffler pipe. hey thanx snook, ill try that plastic tie thing to see if it helps, but did your ties melt at all? im just curious
