does it take long to install the AEM intake for the 02 Type S. It is not the V2. IM just wondering because i got it today and wanted to get it installed tomorrow. Being saturday tomorrow i know it will be tough to find a mechanic to install it.. If anybody knows a good place in NOVA let me know....

 

The maximum it would take an "idiot" to do it would be four hours, and they would have to be real dumb!! lol


I'm sure you have a basic understanding of the intake or you wouldn't be checking to see if you could do it yourself. So with that said, it took Takewaki and I less than an hour to do his, and we were taking our time (it was nice weather).

I would suggest take a quick pic of the stock one and all of the connections with a digi cam (might not be needed but some people feel safer knowing they can either check back or put it back the way it was if they goof up or think they "bit off too much"). Take out the stock air filter, then the screws holding the airbox to the frame, then a couple of hoses , then it's a clamp holding it to the engine and bingo it's off. Now just do the opposite with the new one. Its real easy.

 

my mechanic did my INJEN CAI in less than 1 hr. DIY maybe about 2-3 if you REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY take your time...(pepsi breaks, and such, )

 

what about fitment as far as the cone hitting our fog lights in 02-03 TL-S? I heard that some people had to cut some of the cone or something and some people had no problems at all.. any thoughts on this? what kind of tools do i need?

 

aight well i got it installed i love it...
