Instalation of an AEM v2 intake in a '99TL ???

Hey all, Im about to put in the V2 intake...I know the '99 has that little radiator in the stock airbox and I will need to bypass that and hook the stock hoses back together. My question is, do I need any extra parts - extra hose or any other piece to get this job done? If so I just want to make sure I get it before I take my bumper and stock airbox...so anyone with a '99 TL - did you have to by anything extra to install your CAI???

Follow both of the hoses that go into the little radiator back to their sources. Then pull one of them off the little radiator and plug that end onto the fitting where the other one starts. Easier to do than explain.

well got it on...not to bad at all, the rubber mount was kinda messed up though (previous owner didnt tell me!) anyway, I fixed it temporarily and Ill probably just order a new one from AEM. Im going to go test it out now!

ya that is worth it for sure...I can even tell from my previous setup (no resonator and K&N filter). Great extra pull, and the sound...WOW, now I understand what everyone has been saying about VTEC and a CAI - that would scare little kids. Sounds great - quite a bit more sound than with the stock air box and no intake resonator. Though I do have a slight hum sound at idle - similar to removing the 2nd intake resonator, but about 1/3 as loud, so I can deal with it fine.

Overall a very good addition, especially since I didnt pay full price.

What did you end up doing with the hoses connected to the little radiator?

it was real easy...basically you know the piece that come from the front part of the engine that has 2 hoses on it and the top piece is a breather part that goes into the front of the intake and the bottom part has coolent...well the bottom tube is only like 7 inches long or so and that is either the in or out for the stock air radiator, so I just left it on the first piece I was talking about and put the other end right on the nipple on the bottom of the throttle body. This basically bypassed the other thing so the coolent just has a much smaller loop now and the engine doesnt know a difference. So its not a problem at all - its very easy to see what to do once you get everything off.

Do others with CAI's have that slight hum??? its not very loud, but its there. Also the rubber mounting thing that AEM supplies has a teriable design - I can see why they break - like mine has already. Im going to modify that later also.

well my last time to ask this I guess, but do you with CAI's have that slight hum sound at idle? You really cant tell unless you are by a building so the sound bounces back...?

Besides the 2 tubes for the coolant/mini-radiator, what did you do with the plug that has 3wires attached to it?
