Question Inspire Reverse Camera

Somebody posted a comment some days back about a reverse-camera on the Inspire that hooks up to the Navi - or something like that. It gives you a TV picture of where you are backing the car. Does anyone know what that is all about, or where I can get information on this?

I think NighthawkBlack has put some Inspire parts on his TL. You can see it in the TL Gallery, here is the link.

Well, if you get the decoder for the navi from stevestms@aol.com, I can supply a black and white OR color reverse camera and make it turn on when you go in reverse.

You mean this one???

I think only comes in certain colors. If you can find a way to hook it up, it would be awesome. They also have front side cameras too, which shows on split screen on the nav!

LoL that's some crazy stuff..

what will they come up with next?

maybe, inspire parallel parking sys.? pull up next to your parallel parking spot and let inspire do the rest... seen this one some concept cars, awhile back.. guess this option never made it past production.

Well, since they do make these things, does anyone know how much they cost for parts and install? Streetz - this is for you...

The rear camera is wired to a TV tuner which we don't have on our TL's. I bet ron could figure out how to wire one into our navi setup.

Hey, I just read that the human neck is capable of turning about 110 degrees. Pretty cool, huh.

I think I'd be a little nervous just looking at a screen while in reverse. I need to look around with my own eyes. If it were on the whole time as a rear view mirror, that would be cool.

How about those sensors? Anybody know anything about those sensors? I think I saw one on a Silver TL but not sure if they were parking sensors. They were attached to the rear lights.

The one that Inspire has is a reverse camera.

Park distance control on the BMW is a sensor that will beep when you are close to back into something.
