wow... i wonder if that would eb a good idea over here... i think the buzzing sound and flashing light may be a bit much though and can be distracting if not annoying.

Well if you're going to hit a car, I think thats more annoying and distracting. The thing is, at what point does the system warn you. Too soon and it might be annoying, too late, then whats the point of the system. I like new stuff on my car, so I wouldn't mind taking it and trying it.

I just realize the CMS has two setting, far and near. The thing slowly applys the brake and restrain your seat belt. It can't hurt to have it. I want to try it. Dark, it doesn't mean you don't have to press the brake if there is a car in front of you.

If you weren't paying attention and you're going to hit a car, you would hit it going 60 mph.

With the CMS, it would slow it down to 55 or maybe 50 mph and that 10 mph difference can mean life and death.

As soon as they hit the market, the board is going to be flooded with posts saying "yank the following fuse and it's disabled..."

Yeah I'm not liking the idea...what happens when you're driving aggressively and you come up on the car in front of you to change lanes at the last minute b/c the car next to you is being a d1ck and not wanting you to pass? This thing is going to apply your brakes so either you can't pass or you won't realize you can't make it, cut into the guy next to you and get into a wreck.:banghead:

can you guys stop freaking out before you actually know how the system works? There is an off button you know. If you're freakout about it, you don't have to use. I on the other hand welcome new tech and hope it's included in the new TL but I doubt it.

The system is call Collision Mitigation system (CMS). The only thing I'm worry about is that people will become less attentive to the road because of this thing.
