Injen CAI installed !!!!!!!

Installed my Injen CAI this weekend. It took less than 2 hours to do and it was worth every penny. After the install, I had about a 30 mile drive home from my friends house (all highway), so I decided to open it up a little. When the VTEC hit I thought I was going to see my hood get sucked in!!!! IT SOUNDS SOOOO AMAZING!!!!!

Anyway, I was about half way home and pulled up beside a Mercury with about a sixty year old male driving it....WITH HIS WIFE. And I hear this rumbling noise. It was the engine in this guys Mercury. So I'm thinking WTF does he have in there. Anyway the guy looks at me and nods, so I downshift and gun it....and so does he. The guy had his window down and had no idea the noise he was about to hear from my car. The VTEC kicked in and his eyes turned into 2 big saucers . He immediately jumped on his accelerator and his car was real loud too. The sounds coming from both our cars would've made your mama proud!

Turns out this guy has a Mercury Marauder. One word of caution....they are extremly fast. He did start to inch up and gain ground. I was really amazed. Its like a sports car for the elderly. I was definitely outmatched on the highway, but I think I could definitley take him on a windy one. Anyway, it was a great run. We both hit around 130 and slowed. I think his wife started boo-hooing him to slow down. So we pulled beside each other again and were laughing our heads off, and proceeded to wave goodbye.

Eventhough I lost a race it was so fun hearing the new addition to my car. If you dont have a CAI....GET ONE NOW, you'll thank me later. And be weary of running against Maruders in a straight line.....they have alotta power!

Heres what I was up against:

4.6-liter SOHC 32-valve V8 engine

302 horsepower and 318 pounds per foot of torque

18-inch forged 5-spoke polished alloy wheels

"The heart and soul of the new Mercury Marauder sedan is an all-aluminum 32-valve, 4.6-liter V8. Pumping out 302 horsepower (2004), the Mercury Marauder throws the driver back with a head restraint-bending 318 pounds-per-foot of torque. Power from this engine is transferred to the rear wheels through a heavy-duty, 4-speed automatic transmission with a brazed 11 1/4-inch 160K high-stall speed torque converter and 6,000-rpm WOT shift speed. Adding to new Marauder performance is a new dual-bore 57mm throttle body, high flow air cleaner, zip tube, upper intake and Cobra lower intake."

I definitely had my hands full. The Type S would do fine against one (I think), especially on a windy road. TL-P's beware......I found out the hard way.

Heres a good link for oics of it: http://www.familycar.com/RoadTests/M...der/Photos.htm

Notice the Voltimeter and Oil pressure gauges....pretty cool.

I posted on another thread about this car. The V6 Accord has been tested as faster. So we have no worries.
