Post Indiglo gauges for Acura TL/CL! Sign up to make it happen!

A company called HID Vision says they are willing to make reverse indiglo gauges for the 99-01 TL and 02 TL-S and 02 CL-S.

They have to be overlays because our gauge needles don't come off.

They will be red and blue reverse indiglo with a light silver face. We can change this to plain white but I think light silver will look better - we'll have pics of the silver face next week. I really like just blue, but since our needles are red and we can't change that, I think it will look very nice. Here's a (small ) pic:

The price is $80 + $5 shipping. This won't happen until we get 50 people signed up. If 100 people sign up the price drops to $70 + $5 shipping. A little steep but if its the only way to make it happen, then its the only way.

To sign up, email me at natedone@hotmail.com and tell me what year your TL or CL is.

So far we have 49 2000-2001 TLs and 9 1999 TLs. WE NEED MORE!

As soon as we start getting interest I will send gauges to them (I borrowed an extra set from a friend). It will take them 4 weeks to make. After they're made and we have atleast 50 people signed up, you'll be able to buy them!

The Legend guys are already on their way to these gauges. You can see the post about it here. They have over 100 signed up! We'll probably be able to see pics of these installed in the Legends before we order.

Sign up now!

Note: I'm not making any profit off of this at all, I just really want gauges!

Hey Nate, just interested in knowing how many people they said you needed to make the gauges. HID Vision is making those reverse indiglo gauges for the Legend owners, but they wanted 50 People for each different style/year gauges. They should be just about making the Legend TYPE I set, as tehy got about 60+ already, but the TYPE II is only about 38 people so far. Anyway, jsut curious on how many people you needed. Thanks.

Good point, I'm waiting on a reply from HID Vision on that question. For sure we're doing it for the 00-01 TLs (we better, thats what I have! ) but we'll see what they say about the number of people needed per gauge type...

I swear, I feel left out a lot of times just because I have a 97. Therefore nobody wants to have enything to do with a first gener....it sucks. If those people would make it available for the 1st gen people, I am sure that a lot of us would want to purchase. I know that I would!

Here’s a thought. Since they’re $80 with 50 sets, and $70 for 100 sets. Why can’t we go backwards? We can pay him more for less sets, since I’m almost positive that we won’t get 50 sets. Lets offer him $90 for 25 sets, or $100 for 20 sets. Something along those lines. Come on, what’s $20 more, when there’s nothing out there for our car. Its not like he has any competition. We should really take advantage of this guys. Seriously. And besides what the hell else are you going to get for $90-$100? A tower strut bar? We’ve already got one... You can’t even get a free flow cat for that much. Come on, we have a chance to get some Phat ass gauges that look far better than Type S gauges, prolly during the day and ESPECIALLY at night.

It is 50 people per gauge design. So far we have 14 people for the 00-01 TL and 2 people for the 99 TL. Thats a good turn out for less than a day but I'll find out about a higher price for fewer people signed up.

Asking for more pics also.

Blue gauges with red needles? I see little difference.

I asked about buying less than 50 for more money:

I'm not able to get 25 it has to be 50 or more because the toolings
for each new gauge made cost over $1500 per gauge. Meaning I must buy 100
gauges from them so they wont charge me for the toolings.
I really want these gauges! Sign up!

Pics coming soon.

I asked about the 1999 gauges since the only difference between them and the 00-01 is that the 99s have 4 gears while the 00-01s have 5. I'll let you all know.

In the meantime, recruit people for these gauges!!!

I wonder if these would look like the passat gages? Those would be cool. I would like to a see a better picture and also a feeling of how hard it is to instal correctly. I don't want to take apart my brand new dash and have it go back together with intermittent noises.

Can you send me an email Mafioso? Thats how I'm keeping track of this. natedone@hotmail.com

You don't replace anything, its an overlay, pops on over your existing gauges. You can't tell that its an overlay.

Installation should be the same as 00-01s, a few screws... though I'm not sure... Ron?

Nate, this is settling down, we've got 26 00+'s and 5 99's, why don't you propose to him $110 or $115 to make them?

I'm sure we don't have a problem paying that much more, come on.

Oh and you counted me in right? Even though I havent sent you an email...

I know BDI. Even though the differences between 00-01 and 99 gauges are only the number of gauges, I'm told we'll need 50. But don't give up all hope... I'm working on a plan B...
