The web site that sells it has a Dyno results link. But it is just a recreated chart. I wonder if it is real.

they performed tests on the old big block engines which under acheives power...

i guess it doesn't work well with engines like our TL

I guess if it was a real benefit to the TL then Comptech would have included this functionality in their upcoming Ice Box. Looks to me that all this thing does is just spin a fan to cram more air into the engine to make sure that there is enough Oxygen for total combustion. I would think that with modern engines that are EFI this is a non-issue. I don't really know for sure. This is just my guess and the little I know about how car engines work. Anyone want to clarify this?

It won't work and besides all of these intakes only give a 3% increase in HP, which is almost nothing. I think that intakes are highly controversial. Any physics majors here will approve of what I'm saying as I spoke with a Professor/friend of LIU. If you do all the temp. measurements and then convert to Kelvin then you will see how I got the 3%. All in all, let us know how it goes.

alexxx...3% of 260hp is 7.8hp. not a bad gain.

personally, i don't think it will work, but if it does give a 7-8hp gain, i'll take one.

3% IS a significant gain, when you look at the hp numbers we are dealing with here.

The temperature of the air has to be just right to get the maximum 3% increase. Yes I will say that the 7.8 hp increase is pretty good, but you will only get it when the weather conditions are just right.

If there was a way to measure the temperatures of air going into the chamber from the stock intake and the CAI or this tornado product, then we would see if this truly works. Then again another issue comes up...how do we know that Acura did not already make its intake to achieve maximum performance, in this case - cooler air.

If I had the time and tools, I'd definately check this out but until then, I'll be waiting for the dyno tests (again what will the temp. be like around the car during the test).

do not buy it..it will not work. In theory, you want the air at your intake to be smooth (ei non turbulance)..this product does just the OPPOSITE. It is a marketing scam in my opinion. Trust me, I've been with the performance arena for 4 years..i know...

You said that months and months ago also. Still nothing.

For everyone else, thsi thing has been discussed numerous times. The search button will give you all the answers you want, so use it. If you are too lazy, heres the main conclusion most have reached; "Its BS!!"

how can one make conclusions without trying...

Yes, I am aware that I have been "saying that for months". The data that will be posted later, will speak for itself. So for now, you can make assumptions:

(a) it doesnt work, its ; "Its BS!!"
(b) i'll buy one and if it doesnt work, i'll just get a refund
(c) i'll wait for turbo's dyno which is supposed to come.

JUNK.......Someone here said his dad is the owner of the company and would post dyno results, yeah.........this was like 3 months ago and I still didn't see anything. Save your money because even though they said you will get your money back, they'll make a few bucks off you on shipping. Bottom line = Don't work and waste of $$$$.

Exactly Turbo is the guy who claimed that montsh ago. His dad owns this major company that makes all these claims about HP gains, but they dont have easy access to a dyno????

Silver is absolutley right, Lets say you pay $11 for S&H, and they spend $2 (I feel generous) using 6-8 week, lowest of the low class parcel post. Even if you did return it (which many do not), and you went through the shipping it back at your own cost, they still made money off of you. Check out the 5% restocking fee also.

The best part is they made money without selling or doing anything off of you. Does anyone really think that it cost anywhere near $70 to R&D, and produce those little snipets of scrap aluminum with that simple turbine pattern??? Check out aluminum duct work at Home Depot and see how cheap it is.

I remember years those things sold for ~$20. I guess the cost of scrap aluminum cans has really skyrocketed huh.

As stated do a search. Car and Driver did a test and so did Sport Compact Car. Neither found gains in either HP on a dyno, or in mpg on a closed circuit track at steady speeds in back to back runs.
