^_^ 227hp new WRX used the same engine as our previous gen. Impreza 2.0GT model in Taiwan. I have owned some cars before and this 2.0GT is the fastest car I ever driven.
I am proud to say this engine has great potential to modify with Sti version .
Quickest record ever set in Taipei:
0-60, 3.9 sec
-----------
98' IGT (Taipei)
99' 3.2TL VTEC

Unfortunately, Subaru messed up on this generation. Supposedly the tranny can only take around 250-260 lb.ft of torque. Yikes. For a car that can get that much torque from a downpipe and catback exhaust, that's pretty scary. The previous generation, WRX's, hell even the 2.5 RS's could take much more beating than that.
But on the good side, the car has a lot of potential all else being equal.

The good news is there are some folks who already make new gear sets for the tranny. The upgraded gear pairs come in a variety of types (up to full tilt drag level -- but it is shift without synchros time *and* time to practice double-clutching.) They do make some more "sedate" gears for touring/rally use that still have syncros.

Actually, those headlights dont look TOO bad in person, saw it in Englishtown at AutoX (wagon version). But I wished they kept the orig body style of the international version. But oh well.

Saw one at our local car show. Looks good. Got inside and seats are similar to the feel of my TL-S. Got out and closed the door and boy did it sound terrible! Sounded hollow and tinny(sp?). Was not impressed as far as quality goods especially compared to the TL.

Ya, the WRX is pretty Bad-ass, it's a shame it's so conservatively styled...I don't mind the front, it's the back end styling that i'm partial about..
