damn the laws pulled me over today for tint. it was an old guy and he was like i pulled you over because it looks like your tint isn't legal. so he brought his shit out and it read 12.8% tint. and this is mirror.. really the tint is only 20% but the windows are factory tinted...i was like fuckkkkkk least i dont have to fix it..just pay the fine. had it like this for 6 months with no problem....

yea that does suck I have 5% tint on my cl and haven't had a problem... even got pulled over a couple of times and nothing was said about the tint, ''Knock on wood"

 

That sucks man... Same shit happend to me like 3 years ago when I had 5% black limo. After that I changed it to 20% (haha), and haven't had any cop say anything about it . Just roll down all four of your windows when you get pulled over and you should be good.

 

Unless they are pulling you over because they noticed the tint before.

i've been pulled over for other things, but they never mentioned the tint.....i've only been pulled over once for tint in Ridgewood...those of you who are familiar with Ridgewood, they're really strict about seeing into cars and stuff because of all the people there at night..

they give a lot of breaks though.....he let me go with no problems...just had to cooperate and shit.....definitely worth it for around here.

yea someone also said they got a ticket twice in one day for tints and the cop didnt care that he got a ticket earlier.

Those stupid tint measurers don't even work. Here in Cali, if you get a ticket, it's a fix-it ticket where you have to strip it and then get a police officer to check it and then have them sign the ticket. I got pulled over and the cop wrote me down for tint on the front side windows. I got the tints stripped and then I went to have a police officer to sign my ticket. They took out the tint measurer and you know what they got on the mearsurer on clear windows?

Yeah I've heard of cops pulling out keys and scratching your tint so you have to get it removed. I think they're more anal in urban areas since we got more gun problems.

If you really wanna take the risk, just roll down your windows, install a kill switch for your windows, and tell em your windows are broken so they can't check it. Broken windows aren't illegal.

 

I hope one of these cops gets run over by a truck while writing a ticket for tints. Especially the one that didnt care for giving a ticket over again which another rat already gave.

the fuckin ticket is a little below $300!!!!! i was like WTFFFFFFFFF. payin sum $50 to do inspection and just pass my tint, show the courrt proof and have the case dismissed for takin care of the problem

 

what if you fail?

 

i'm pretty sure i read on the DMV site or a reputable source that illegal tints should be a $44 ticket added on to a speeding ticket. maybe they changed that....i know it's like that in NJ....around $50 for not having a front lic plate.

 

thats the whole point of doin the inspection because i do have 6 months left. im doin it cuz i no the shop and he's gonna "let me" passon the tint
