A TSB is just a technical service bulliten. Its not a ticket for a new tranny. This isnt a "recall", its just a warranty extension. you gotta wait till it dies to get a new one.

no hes talking about the Saftey Recall Campaign, where you bring it in and they inspect and install the oil jet kit. i have the Saftey Recall Campaign notice sitting in front of me waiting for a good time to make a appointment to get it in to have it looked at and installed

no, if you do not get this done your warantee will most likely be totally null and void. i will bet a paycheck you won't be covered under the 100k warranty. recalls are part of the fine print. if they issue an upgrade, it becomes part of the overall car design.

you will also be without legal recourse should you be hurt since you did not listen to acuras advice.

do not put yourself in this position. the inconvenience of dropping the car off is far less than the inconvenience of being told you have to shell out 3 grand for a new trannyor god forbid having it go out in traffic and you get rear ended.

well, since my tranny already makes the whine noise (similar to going in reverse) i assume its well on its way to failure.......SOON.

am i CORRECT?

if so, i would get a new rebuilt tranny with the jet kit already included anyway.

in any case, i'm pretty dissapointed with acura in that i just don't think this is the final fix for our trannies. i have a terrible feeling many of us will be SOL after our trannies break down after passing the 7yr/100,000mi mark.

Why wait? Just go to or call and ask the dealership about the oil jet kit and the warranty extension.

as far as i know the trannies dont come with that yet,and if they did isnt a piece of mind knowing that it was inspected better than wondering wether the tranny is going to drop into 2nd gear at 70+ mph on the hwy?

I think you should ignore it so if the gear is bad it will fail sooner or later. When it does fail the trans locks up along with your front tires.Maybe you will be lucky enough to be on the busy freeway with a 18 wheeler tailgating you when it happens causing mass death & destruction. :blaze:
