If you think Acura is goin RWD your gonna be dissapointed
I was at the acura dealership today and cause my friend was test driving a cl-s. well I was talkin to the guy who sold me my TL and he told me some interesting thing. First off, the new 02' TL, CL, and v8 RL, will be a mid year release around May. But the thing is, Acura is going AWD now. Instead of goin to the RWD route, Acura will slowly change to a AWD format. Also the integra name is going to be dropped, they are gonna go alphanumeric now. aka number of liters like 1.4 or whatever and a code like XA or whatever (like the 3.2TL, 3.5RL, 3.2CL, you know what I mean! ) I think that AWD will be pretty phat. And no the 02' or 03' TL's will not have it. Maybe when the redesign comes out.

And just think of what will MB, BMW, VW/AUDI do in those years...
Just buy the best now and in 3 years or so get the newer version....

Just my 2 cents...

I had a feeling this would happen.
Why would Acura invest all that money in developing the VTM-4 system in the MDX, just for the MDX??? Acuras cars share EVERYTHING. Acura is a cheapskate company.
Their too cheap to develop a goddamn auto-leveling system for the HID's...
That VTM-4 system is pretty cool though... unlike Audis AWD the VTM-4 should actually IMPROVE performance on the Acura cars at the drag strip. While also much improving how they act in the corners.

The perfect (reasonable) portfolio of cars for me would be:
2003 Acura TL-S 6 Speed (hopefully manual)
2001 Acura MDX (automatic)
2000 Honda S2000 (6-sp manual) for good weather.
A AWD TL or S2000 would be cool with me too! =)
Not to much to wish for is it?

I think gas mileage is the same. A AWD system is believe is a system where the momentum goes to the wheel(s) that needs it. So basically it's a 2 wheel drive system that tranfers momentum to the wheels that are slipping. A 4WD system is where all for wheels go at the same time. I own a 4WD SUV and boy does it suck up gas.

well, from what i hear, theres gonna be two versions of the RL, the more expensive RL will be a sports edition. Its said to be competing against the likes of m5's and such.

I like AWD better, we have snow much this year, and the TL is alright, but would be better if it's AWD. and I'm only in Nebraska, think about like Alaska

True. true. Hey what's the word on the NSX? Is it going to be AWD also? or just RWD? The new ones I mean?
