If you had a second chance...
If you could do it all over again, Would you still pick up your TL-S or a new Maxima/I35? Pretend the tranny issues didnt exist, just for this round.

Maxima = less luxury and don't like the styling as much
I35 = a bit more of an 'old man's car'
If I didn't live in Canada, I'd consider the G35 but I'd turf out the stock wheels and put on something with less offset.

i upgraded from a 98 maxima to the tls. the 5th gen maxima just never did it for me, it had the exact same interior as my 4th gen. was never impressed with it.
the new '04 maxima?:yack:
needless to say, i'm very happy with my choice.

I have a '97 Max and an '02 TL-P. While the Max is a damn good car and reliable as hell, it feels ordinary to drive. The TL feels more like a drivers car. Also, I'm much more impressed with the TLs interior.
I would wait to see the new TL before answering this question.

personally I wouldn't get a maxima, i35 or g35, they just don't do it for me. If I were to do it over & the TL-S were not available, I'd maybe get the new 330sport model that comes with 235hp & 18inch rims.

I would pick the Maxima out of the mere fact that it has a 6spd manual available. I like the practicality of 4 doors and the performance and control of a manual. An automatic just doesn't do it for me.
If Acura would get their heads out of their butts and put the 6spd manual in the TL-S I would have a very tough decision on my hands and I honestly have no clue which car I would go with.

I would of gotten the maxima if it had the 5 speed tiptronic and DVD NAV. With the money left over, I was planning on modding it like crazy. Problem is, at the time of purchase, the NAV was only CDROM based...and a 5 speed tiptronic is still not available. So yeah...I stand by my research and believe I got the best bang for the buck.

Honestly i always liked the Maxima, my buddie has a '2002 GLE/SE combo custom ordered. I drove it a few times and liked itm but the Acura just feels like doopstr said, a drivers car.
I still wouldent take a 330 over a TL-S. I never like the 3 series just because of the interior. I would rather have a 530 (if it was a little faster) or really a loaded 540i sport. But $55,000 is hard to come by these days... The 5 series just has so mush more to offer the driver, and the 3 series cup holders and arm rest still bug the sh!t out of me

Honestly, i highly doubt the TL will ever be avaliable with a 6 speed. It would ruin the sellability of the CL-S 6 speed. The TL would be cheaper and just as good.

More options is always a good thing. But some of us want 4-doors and a manual, which Nissan has and always will offer.
With a TL-S 6spd, nobody would buy the CL-S 6spd is what you're getting at I guess?? Judging by the sales numbes, I guess the 6spd is the only thing keeping the CL alive, and I guess Acura needed the small boost just to keep the market segment filled. Hence, the TL-S suffers.
