If it isnt broke, dont fix it?

Someone once told me if it isnt broke dont fix it. I just got an 03 tl with 88,000 miles and the tranny seems like it is shifting fine. It is cover with the extended warrenty, but what do u think i should do? Take it to the dealer for them to check it out? Wait until 108,000 miles? Dont do anything? And will they even replace it if nothing is wrong? Any suggestions will be helpful, thanks.

I seriously doubt a dealer will replace a good one that still works. I think it has to be failing for them to consider replacing it.

The dealer would give you the same response .... If it ain't broken ... they (dealer) are not going to fix it.

Have them pull the vin to see if it was "fixed" already. If not have it checked under the recall and if it's still ok they will install the jets, or if it's too far gone, they will replace it.

I would definitely bring it in before the warranty expires. Say, at 98,000 miles. That would provide some sort of documentation that there might have been a problem within the warranty period. Depending on the dealership, that might be enough to justify a post-warranty replacement.
