I want a new horn...
I think the stock horn is kind of weak. I don't need it to be an 18 wheeler horn or anything, but I want something with a little more "omph."
So I guess my question is, do they make "performance" horns?
And if they do, just where is the horn located on the car? (The actual sound element of course, not the steering wheel hub.)

Well...
To be quite honest, a good friend of mine was in the market to "change his horn" as well. The only difference being is that he wanted a horn that played "la cuca racha" (saw 1 too many episodes of The Simpsons) on his 2003 Vette Convertible. Now... I now "horn modifications" can be done... but he was quoted a price above $3k (cannot recall exact price). Anyway, he stayed away from it... and I think you should as well...
Of course you could always go to the nearest WAL-MART and pick up a "horn in a can." : )

Haha, yeah, $3K is a little steep. And I don't need to it play songs either. I saw one that played animal sounds too.
I just saw horns on the shelf at a Pep Boys and they weren't that expensive. They had several different styles. I peeked around my engine bay and didn't see anything that looked like the horn so now I am curious as to where it is located on the car.
I just want something deeper and maybe just a tad louder. So many bad drivers in Houston.

I believe the horn can be located infront of the radiator in the bottom grill.... I could be very wrong... but I know my 1999 Civic SI's horn was located there. Check it out.

There's two different horns near that location of the radiator. The second one to the pass. side of the car is a little harder to find.
One morning before going to work I was listening to the Bob and Tom program on the radio an a semi-truck driver called in and had a horn from a diesel locomotive mounted in his rig. "Just to see mom and dad pull over to change their skivys is funny enough after hearin' this comin' up behind them....."
I do see a pair of Hella's advertised quite a bit in some "driving" catalogs I get (Herrington, etc.).

Speaking of horns. I remembered a few years ago, Bosch used to make aftermarket horns designed for Mercedes-Benz. It was pretty loud and made a "bing" kind of noise. I was wondering if that's still available.

I think it depends on what sound are you looking for, to me sound is important. I had a Maxima and I think that horn was weak but on the TLS is much better.
The best sounding horn I ever heard was on a Lamborghini Diablo VT, very unique (and yes I was looking at the tail and not for long after he blew the horn so he can pass). The low tone and the high tone was in perfect combination.
Another one that was very good was my uncle's 505 STI Peugeot, what a strong horn!
What I'm trying to say here is that you can get a horn from just about any car (with a little mod here and there)and put it on yours but you have to listen to it first to see if you like the tone.

I scoured the Bosch website (American) and found no such mention of aftermarket horns. If they do make horns, they're probably OEM and therefore just as timid as the one I have.
As someone mentioned before though, Hella makes quite a few aftermarket horns, the most popular seems to be the Supertone. It even looks nice and has a reasonable price. They're popular with Impreza owners.
Gonna see what I can do. If it requires a lot of fabrication, I'm out, but if it is just splicing some wires and bolting the sucker on, I'm down.

Ive had the Hellas in a Mustang I had and they were great. Here's a link to a great site that sells them. Its also a great place to spend alot of extra cash you have.

If you really want to get loud, then JC Whitney (jcwhitney.com) has a bunch of air horns
