i-VTEC

Does anyone know if i-VTEC is going to be implemented on future TL/CL engines?????

Both RSX engines feature the all-new “intelligent” i-VTEC™ system, a technology used for the first time in any Acura vehicle. i-VTEC works by adjusting “camshaft phasing,” a process that speeds up or slows down the camshaft timing by varying oil pressure. In addition to controlling lift and duration, like other VTEC systems, i-VTEC’s hydraulically controlled Variable Timing Control—called VTC—can continuously vary intake timing, relative to the engine's exhaust timing, by adjusting the phase of the intake camshaft. The result is improved response and enhanced performance at low engine speeds and efficiency across a broad power band.

When will we see computer controlled, solenoid activated valves? Do without the camshafts altogether!

I heard that i-VTEC will be phased in on all Honda engines over the course of the next 4-5 years.
