i think im leaning towards keeping my TL now
like the other thread i posted, i was thinking of getting a second gen tl and selling my 98 first gen. after reading so much about the trannys just dying at rediculous numbers like 50,000 miles and all i think im gonna pass on the second gen. if i was to get one it would most likely be a 99 or 2000 so my 7 yr 100,000 warrenty for it would be crapped on most likely. im all set with paying 15,000 for a car thats trannys will die. thanks for the feed back and hopefully i hear some good storys but if not, its 98 TL for now

I sort of want to get in to something new, not that I don't like the TL or anything, I just sometimes want soemthin faster.

05 Acura TL: a-spec
uhh hum.... (2nd gen TL)!
the 99 tranies actually dont seem as bad as the 00-03. theres a like 99 tranny poll most get atleast 100,000+ on their origional tranny... then again you can always get an after market warranty... like im getting!

if i was to be getting anything it would be a 99. most likely it would have at least 70,000 miles on it already so.... id have to get an after market warrenty. i read thru the poll and it seems the 99 are not to bad. only thing thats telling me "NO" is this community tho. it seems everyones tranny has a problem. i dont mean that everyones does but theres just SO MANY that have posted about there tranny just giving out! isnt a good marketing thing for me. haha! how much does a after market warrenty go for?

Yeah, the 7/100k warranty will soon expire for all 99 model TLs regardless of mileage. And while there are less 99 TL owners posting of failures on this board, there are less 99 models than 00-03s in the first place.
I can't say I would buy a 2nd gen TL over again if I had the chance to do it all again. Of course, I've had more problems than most on this board (10 warranty claims in one year, and some remain unsolved)

Keepping my 2002 TL-S
Thinking the same way also, the car has been perfect so far. For its size the gas mileage is perfect. The body style resembles a a Ferrari,or a Maseratti in fact that is what I call my car.....
