I Think I Fixed The Vibration Problem!!!
I Think I Fixed The Vibration Problem!!!
In an earlier thread I begged and pleaded for some assistance in helping to isolate my vibration problem. And thanks for all those who submitted their input.
But after getting the old tires balanced, new tires all around (Fuzions), and an alignment (which my car now pulls to the right after the visit - I am having them fix it) the car still vibrated at highways speeds, sometimes lower.
I knew I had warped rotors as well since car vibrated at any speed when I applied brake. Well, I got my new Rotora slotted rotors in yesterday and decided to put the rears in.
I found the rear, drivers side caliper STUCK!!! And the pads worn more than on the right hand (passenger) side. Turned out to be a siezed rod that allows the calipers to slide.
well, I took that apart, sanded it down with some 1500 sandpaper, cleaned it the best I could and lubed it back up.
It is nice to be able to drive over 80 again!!!
And the new rotors work well... I am impressed!
I put the front ones in tonight and they are nice, smooth eye candy as well as good brakes.
I used stock acura pads since I had a new set laying around.
Its like I got the car I originally purchased back!!
Shame I cant get the ould tires back, I could have used those 500 bucks! lol...
Well, one for the history books!

after shipping, it was 298 for all 4.
I got them through Modacar.com. But I called my order in and the shipping was much less than that quoted online. I guess they pro-rate the shipping online and keep it one price for all locations in the US.
They were quick and honest, and didnt jerk me around like Streetbeatcustoms.com did. Plus they were cheaper. Im not a rep for modacar, just a happy customer.
Those Rotoras are sweet and seem to be of very good quality!
