Was I stupid for dumping the stock catback?

Hey guys ... Um yea wel lthe stock catback to the y pipe (i took the mufflers off) was about 7 feetish

I decided to throw it in the dumpster instead of keeping it around .. am I going to pay up the ass for this down the line?

Im sorta thinking about going back to get it and holding on to it but im not sure.

uh parts are always nice to keep around just cuz you can swap your greddy evo out when you sell the car and sell it back out used. that's why I have boxes and boxes of random parts like the intake resonator etc.

If you have a place to store it, I'd keep it.

Yeah I have all my original OEM parts lying in the garage. They take up a lot of room, but I think it will be worthwhile to keep. If I were you, I'd hold onto it.

This may be different in other parts of the country but unless there was something wrong with the cat it illegal to take it off (or replace it with aftermarket).

well if all else fails, try to sell it out to the black market now or ebay it. sure you gotta do some work, but money is money. there's gotta be someone who got an aftermarket exhaust who threw away their stock.

I know it's illegal to remove the cat and not replace it at all, but it's not illegal to replace it with an aftermarket cat. At least not in Colorado.

How are you going to deal with the messed up readings the rear O2 sensor gets when you remove the cat?
