i have mixed feelings about my comptech exhaust
for some reason I think my exhaust is getting louder and sometimes it annoys me. I think the luxary part of my car is really gone and I think my comptech exhaust is too loud for me!

I was considering the Comptech exhaust for my car, but I decided that the noise, aside from being a bit too loud, isn't even a pleasant tone. Aside from that I'm not in love with their looks; they're pretty expensive for a pair of mufflers; and they result in only a negligible power increase.
No offense to anyone who has them, of course

Hmm... I guess ppl say different things especially because we have different tastes for everything.
I personally love having aftermarket exhausts on ANY car. And I HAD to get one for my TL. I chose Comptechs since these were the ones specially designed for TL. I actually wanted the Greddy's (cuz I'm a big fan of Greddy exhauts)... but I'd have to have the exhauts fabricated to fit the TL since they are made for Accords. Any fabs will probably void the Greddy warranty... that's why I decided to go with Comptechs. After I've had it for a while, I think it still could be louder. The Comptech soud is so soft. It's lacking the aggressive exhaust note that tells everyone that you mean BUZINEZ. ...kno what I mean?
Even tho I love the aggressive deep throaty sound of Greddys, I'm still glad I got my Comptechs, especially when I drive my clients around. It's not loud at all... really. It's not loud at all.

i guess i'm more into trendier designs. i couldn't see myself paying $600 (comptechs) for what look like ultra-flo mufflers that cost about $90 each. and the only thing custom about them is the muffler to flange piping for fit. funny how people mention the lobsidedness. my friend's shop did an install of the comptechs a few weeks ago before i saw these posts and my friend and his installer both were commenting on the questionable uneven fit.
i like the greddy evo's but not for $700 (even though its cat-back) when i know that i'm probably going to have to pay a grip for customizing the fit.
the only thing i want from comptech is the headers and that's because nobody else makes them.

Monday I was under the car installing new sways and did as a number of other members have done, installed a metal hose clamp around one of the rubber hangers. There is a hanger at the rear and front of the muffler, I clamped the front one and just started screwing it tighter until it hung properly. Both sides are now even. Give it a try, it's a really simple fix and now looks alot better.
