I have freakin remote start!

I completely didn't even know! The boyfriend was unlocking my car and he set my alarm off, so as I was turning the alarm off the foglights on my car come on and it makes a funny noise and the engine started! I was like holy crap I didn't know it did that! So anyway, what my question is...How do I do it again? I have a Viper alarm. Anyone have the same one?

Yea you hold down the unlock button and it starts your motor and rolls down your window. That's awesome finding new things on a new car. In your case you found a 350 dollar modification..... nice!

I'm so excited...I want to go play around with it some more but its storming. I think I did press the unlock button and hold it on accident, and that started it. What model number is the alarm that you have tunaboy?

I've got stock . But my buddy has the high end Viper in his dodge ram. It's so sick too when he starts it since his exhaust is so F-in loud. I know in the future I'll upgrade my alarm too much other shit goin on with my car right now though.

I don't have a start button...I have lock, unlock, panic, auxillary. I found a website for Viper and I have no clue what mine is. It didn't roll the window down when it started but I know if I leave any windows down on accident it rolls them up. I haven't really messed around with it to know how it works.

Its ok tunaboy, don't feel bad...you could be like me and not even know whats in your car LOL

it varies from alarm to alarm. Vipers are cool because they are easy to program and they dont short out like the cheaper brands. I have had 2 remote start. The first one I press the lock and unlock button together. The one I have right now is pretty cool The guy that did it for me set it up that I press one button 2 for the remote start. The other option is I press lock and unlock together. The difference is that one of the setting is for turbo. It will keep your car running for another minute or two after you tuyrn off the engine so your turbo cools off. He jsut did it for me anyways since there is close to impossible that i am even going to get turbo on the TLS. SO I recommend you to go to a reliable shop and tell them wassup. If they are going to charge you, then that shop is no legit. It doesnt take more than 2 minutes to program. Anyone can program that shit. Just press a few buttons and wa la . You got auto start.

you can either press the star button twice, or at the same time push the unlock and lock button.

also how do you not know you have remote start? did you buy your car used?

Well I know how to program the remotes...I just had no idea what model number I have so I didn't even know it had remote start in it...the alarm was on the car when I bought it used. But I got remote start It seems that the window controllers were added on. I found the alarm box but I can't even move it around to see what model number b/c the wires are a mess under the steering wheel. Update on my sig when I figure out what model alarm it is.

My remote doesn't have a star button on it. It seems that unlock/lock at the same time starts the car and turns it back off, while aux. is for the window controllers

Whatever you do don't mess with they wires. They WILL shit on you. ECU wrires and most of the others are extremely fragile so don't pull on them or anything to see the alarm box. they will come out and short which is mad $$$$. Take it to a speaker store.

Thanks tuna I didn't dig around in there very much just kind of stuck my head under the steering wheel area. I'm bringing it to a friend that works at car audio at Best Buy tomorow to see if he can organize so the wires don't hang below the emergency brak anymore...I'm nervous about the wires though...they ALWAYS get caught in the e-brake
