I hate ILLINOIS Roads.

Blew out a shock on a nice big pothole on 90 between Rockford and Elgin. WTF is with the road crews not fixing crap like that. I guess they are too busy dealing with their stupid Governor

At least you didn't have to deal with the roads in Chicago...last week when some snow came, "Richie Rich" (Mayor Daley) would only allow snow plows to plow streets if over 2 inches of snow had accumulated.

Blago's not stupid, he just didn't know how to commit corruption the right way....he should take notes from Richie Rich.

probably just typical wear left over from a snow/ice storm. We've had our fair share of nice chunks of road missing.

..I think Kris was on aftermarket shocks, that's why hes probably venting! Sorry to hear about your incident Kris.. welcome to what we have to go through yearly! >_< And even when they do fix it, all they do is throw in the road material, fill it and flatten it.. lols, not much rly fixing it as they just re-open back to huge potholes again.

Yea probably. Same as last year. 90 was horrible last year. there were sections that would eat up semi tires.
Yea they were going to be replaced this winter some time, no i have to do it sooner. They still rode good though till this.
No, im in Elgin now. Im going to be heading home shortly.

Ive been putting up with it for years with all my travel to Il. It would be nice if they would fix the roads properly.

Yo contact the city and see if they can compensate you because I blew a tire on a pothole on 88 and they covered the cost. Just check out this link i dug up:
http://www.dot.state.il.us/claims/claimsinformation.asp

And here is the article i found that in: http://cbs2chicago.com/local/pothole....2.649693.html

Gotta love roads in IL, they're all torn to shit, and when they do decide to fix them they take 6 years for minor reconstruction (just look at the mess known as 88)

One would think they would fix things but it takes them so damn long to do any thing its not even funny. You should have seen the area of 90 between the WI/IL border and the first tollbooth area. Last year there were such big holes that it would take out semi tires. There were some between the lanes that were (and im not joking) a good 8 inches deep and 10" wide.. It took them 3 full weeks to fill those. You can see the area they finally repaired properly this year by the couple mile long foot and a half wide patch between teh 2 lanes.

Don't blame the whole state for the road problems- I don't think it's like that everywhere in IL. As far as the governor is concerned, stupid is right on.

Sounds like WI. Pot holes AND deer parts. Though our pot holes arent nearly as bad as the IL pot holes.

You guys have great roads down there. We drove down from Canada, down N.Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, IL, Michigan, NY, Maine, Mass, New Hamp and a few more states and back and we loved the road. If you want crappy infrastructure, come to Canada where I live. The pot hole filled roads rarely get fixed properly in summer. Sometimes I prefer winter as snow and ice fills the gap on the road temporarily to make them a bit smoother. The weather warmed up to -10F today without windchill factor. Canada, eh?

Lost two rims and two tires on that section last year in my wifes Saab 9-5 Aero. Didn't blow the tires but when I got home one rim was cracked and the other bent. Both tires had huge bulges in them.

I had a severely bent front drivers side rim and f'd up tire, along with a slightly bent drivers side rear rim last year from downtown Chicago.
