JUST KIDDING! I should be saving up for my girlfriend's engagement ring because she has been nagging me for a while now, but everytime I come here, I see the mods people have done to their TLs and it gets me geeked. I then add those to the list of mods that I already want and my hand starts to inch towards the credit card to make a purchase or two. Eventually, I come to my senses and I say to myself, "If I get married soon, I basically double my income to get more car parts in the future".

Just out of curiousity, what do you plan as your next mod?

I bought a ring and still mod

 

i bought the ring, got married, had the kid, and still mod...after all, a family only needs one practical car!

 

I know for sure that one of my hobbies is going to get killed after I get married - my watch collecting or my modding. It's definitely going to be the watches, because I'm starting to liquidate them to help fund the ring. As long as I buy inexpensive mods (under a few hundred dollars each), install them myself, and buy them a few months apart, I think I'll be fine.

when we first got married my wife actually bought me the west wing body kit for my then 01 tl. now that we havebeen married she wants to what i will get her for her ride.

LMAO! Right now, she's got an 02 Civic EX, but after we get hitched, I'm gonna have her trade it in for either a Lexus IS AWD, the G35 AWD, or the new Altima (we've already talked about it). She loves the Infiniti FX, but I don't like SUVs.

She only has to give up buying expensive ass handbags and wallets. I could have bought a supercharger for my car with the amount of moolah she spent on that stuff!

 

yaaa... my "ex" prevented me from doing any mods to the car... she was upset as soon as i put the first TV/Nav in the car.... in fact.. she even got upset when i used the automated car wash instead of the coin car wash.... sigh....

to her... going on vacations... dining out, clothing, etc. was more important.. ya sure of course all of that is on my list of things i do as well but geez.. you would think a girl appreciates it when a car has a tv in it.. oh well....

now my new girl.... who is soon to be wifey cuz this girl is nearly perfect.... not only tries to learn things about acuras but tries hard to get into conversations about car talk... and even supports me with the mods.... though she does state that i should also save up.. this girl is great.... she was like "i wanna buy a TL" :P ...

sigh.... all i can say is... it depends on the person ur with... if that person supports ur decisions... its worth it to get that ring.. and wait on the mods... cuz u know u wont have any problems later doing em.... i got my ex a ring and everything.. fuck.. i could've bought ANOTHER NEW TL for the amount of money i spent on her.... *it was still worth it :P*

 

x2 Marriage isn't much more than a written agreement these days, and females change over time. That girl who was all cool about you modding in the beginning could be at the oppisite end of the spectrum 2 years into the marriage. M.O.B. baby. But driving my TL does provide me almost as much satisfaction as getting a b/j
