hyper ground system????
has anyone ever put this http://www.autocarparts.com/part/1182/1 into there car and if any inprovements happened. it claims to add hp to the car.
I'm about to put one in my car soon. I heard it really does help, and free up some lost horsepower from electrical interferences.
Sometimes I think you guys just don't realize that 5 HP is NOTHING - especially if torque remains the same. There are a few mods I've heard people all excited about that will only provide 2-4 HP...yet...they don't realize how small of an amount that is. Do you really think you will notice the increase when only adding 3 HP or something?? Don't overestimate the benefit or *actual* gains you will *notice*...

also wat is better this ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33577 ) or the other address i posted
I think I read somewhere that it provides like 8 hp. I probably won't notice a difference through my butt-dyno. But it's supposed to smooth out the idle, too, so we'll see.

Sure. Will do.

neone gotten ^ that on their cars? I was thinking of a while ago, but i guess ill save it for when im done with everything else.
These should be easy to install right?
I just made my own set of grounding wires. I used 4ga stereo power cables.
It improved idle, acceleration, and shifting. The hum in the stereo is gone and the scrolling lines in my NAV is almost non-existent. But I don't think it improved MPG or increased HP.

If you can make your own. All they are are just a bunch of "high grade" cable wires that have a o-ring clamped to the end. That way you can also customize the length. Mine costed me $270 for the Sun Hyper Voltage and Ground systems. You'll have to buy the HV system but the grounding, definatly make your own. They all do the same thing. I did definatly notice a difference in power and torque. The car runs much smoother too.

I agree fully!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!!!!!
Go get 20ft (max) of 0 gauge to 4 gauge car audio power cable, and a handful of terminal connectors and a battery terminal... you will get the exact same thing and save yourself over $100!! I don't understand how these car audio companies can actually charge over $100 for this product!!
Just for fun I'll look on ebay and get you the exact same thing for half the price..
All the wire you will need..4/0 Buy it now for $12.99!!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...746091907&rd=1
Four x 4 gauge ring terminals... buy it now for $3.95... might need two
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...746072243&rd=1
Digital readout battery terminal... $54.99.... Digital not really needed for the negative battery terminal, but it would work on the positive and it looks cool...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...745923750&rd=1
Regualr Gold Plated Positive AND Negative battery terminals ...Buy it now for $29.95...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...744356775&rd=1
Total cost, with the regualr battery terminals) $50.84 plus possible taxes.
Total cost, with Digital battery terminal, $75.88 plus app. taxes.
Total cost of the Pre Packaged Hyper Ground System, $182.96 !!!!!

For example: Take a car with 112 HP and 100 lb/ft of torque... then compare it to a car that has 115HP and the same - 100 lb/ft of torque. I can bet you won't go crazy or even notice the difference between the two.

thoughTrue, but a few HP here and there add up pretty quickly. Also, you can never have enough HP.

thoughI personally noticed a difference when I added my CAI and that is supposed to be only a few hp.. It's a big difference when you punch the gas pedal and get more power than you are used to.... Once I got familiar with my car, that "feeling in the stomach" during acceleration goes away... I got it back right after I installed my CAI, but then I got used to it, it came back with a vengeance once I installed my Headers.
Basically, You know your car's performace abilities....so, once your car exceeds them, it is hard not to notice it right away... same for the opposite side... if my car lost a few HP from a problem (ie. exhaust leak, etc...) I would know right away if the car doens't respond as quickly as it is supposed to.
what performance mods do you have SS?
just kiddin'...... Let's go for drinks tonight at the furkin... Bring Johnny... I miss him!!

Yeah there are certian parts to connect.. engine to frame, alternator to frame, engine to battery, alternator to batt..
not sure exactly which parts are grounded, but basically you want to improve the ground from your battery - alternator - engine - frame (all are to the negative terminal on the battery, you are correct) . I am going to up the wire size the alternator currnetly runs through, power and ground, but that's a stereo thingy, it will also help with the grounding and power distribution for the whole car.
The nice thing about making your own grounding kit too is that you can actually reach all the way across the engine bay with one cable. The instructions that came in the Hyperground kit showed that the cable had to reach from the throttle body grounding point all the way to the headlight grounding point (?) on the passanger side... The cable that they provided wasn't even long enough. Make your own, customize the lengths, and even then it won't even be hard....
That's interesting... you should go with shorter cables... because it equals less ressistance, so that's why you go from the battery terminal to two key grounding points (chasis and block or TB), and then piggy back from the last grounding point to another....
I believe that you should keep the cables as short as possible, from point A to B... in order to reduce ressistance... this applies when conducting some sort of electrical signal, for ex: speaker wires, ground cables, power cables etc.... just my two cents!
