How to test a bad speed sensor?
yes drive by mile markers on the freeway at 60mph it should take exactly 1 min to reach the next one. the markers wont be perfect but they are damn close. and not only that radar detectors arent perfect either.
Well, that is part of my problem. They want to charge 90 bucks just to see the codes. They also said that after that they will get a better clue, and will charge base on hoe many things they have to check.
For now I would like to see if any of the sensors are faulty, I can change them myslef.
As far as I can see the sensors are magnetic and they sense the pulse. So they have a closed circuit, then I should be able to check through the socket if they are burnt!?
Thanks

Take it to autozone and have the codes read. Given the code, it might tell you exactly which speed sensor is acting up.
Other than that, look for damage to the sensors or speed sensor rings. The sensors pick up speed from a ring of raised bumps around the outer part of the CV joint.
Sometimes you may find that road debris damaged a sensor or pushed it into the ring (which will destroy the sensor pickup).
