How is the TCS button supposed to work?

My button doesdoesn't have a light on it like the cruise and it also doesn't light up anything on the dash. Its momentary also, not like the cruise switch. My question is what is supposed to happen when you engage the switch? Its possible I have some burnt out bulbs or a bad switch or maybe whatever controls the TCS. A little insight would be great. Thanks

When you press it, it is supposed to stick and there should be a light in the bottom left of the gauge cluster that comes on yellow and says TCS. That disengages the traction control system. Once you press it again the light will go off and it will re engage the traction control system

Thanks! Looks like I need a new switch... Is the TCS dash light supposed to come on when you key the ignition on?

register by cars VIN with www.owners.acura.com and download a free owner book for your car
all the info on switches and what they do and driver tips are in the book

unless you are tryiing to get up an icy driveway,,leave TCS ON meaning no light on dash
'light on means system is OFF

also register with acura care 1 800 382 2238x5 as owner
ask if all recalls are taken care of

So the light on means the tracion control is off? I do have an owners manual but it didnt really explain much. But it was a little late the first night after I bought it and Id had a few tall boys... Maybe I'll read through it again. Thanks 01TL

You can ship me a few of those "tall boys", and we'll call it even [ha-ha]

Why ever in hell Acura choose to use so many different dash bulbs continues to befuddle me.

Yes if the TCS Light in the Dash is ON then TCS is Off (Hahaha)
Just like the VSA System shows a (!) Triangle when you Turn it Off..

If that works then you just need the Bulb Inside, My Fog Light switch also needs a bulb the green one (The One that Turns On with Fogs) just died on me but the Fogs still works.

TCS only works up to 16 mph (25kph) then quits
Its intent per book- is as stated,,icy driveway example

dont turn it off,,leave it alone for most cases

The TCS button is momentary. It doesnt push and stay. Once the car is turned off and restarted the system defaults to on.

IMHO, TCS in the TL is a waste and a joke that doesnt work. I personally find a system that shuts off as early as it does useless. GIve me something that keeps the wheels from spinning at hwy speeds when on black ice and snow. That is useful.
