How to remove license plate lights?

I would like to remove my rear license plate lights, well not take off the bulbs. But is there a Fuse I can pull to make the lights stop working. Reason is I just like having that look at night, but I know it's way illegal and I'll probably receive a "fix It" ticket but I just wanted to try it out. I checked the fuses and can't seem to find where it's located can anyone help me out here?

put a big neon - pull me over- sign on the back of the car

Number 1 reason cops stop someone- rear lights not all working
with the plate light being very high priority to them-
MUST be able to see and read the plate at 50 feet is the real law
No putting either plate in the window, stolen car or robbers trick with the quick switch plates

Watch Cops- no license light-pull over- gun in car- drugs on floor- WARRANT! oops!

i believe the fuse for those lights is "small light" under the hood, although if you pull this a lot of other coutesy lights will stop working as well. You are better off just taking out the bulbs or if you are good with wiring things run a switch to it.

If you really want to get rid of it, just take out the two screws that hold it in and cut the wiring harness out...no more lights!

If you want you could run a switch to it from the interior of your car if you want to be able to turn it on and off whenever you like. Not a good idea but possible if that is what you want to do. I had a blue light for my license plate light and I got pulled over all the time so I finally had to change it back to the stock bulb.

I've had this removed since November. On my other car before this, I didn't have it in for 6 years. I had gotten pulled over for blasting music, speeding, etc....at night. Cops never said a damn thing about it. Why? When they are driving behind you, their headlights reflect off your license plate...so how the hell are they going to see if you have it in or not? lol
