Lightbulb How much would you pay to reprogram your odometer??

This is a discussion that I've read on several threads and was wondering how much it was worth to you. I'd personally pay $300 to have mine done. I know some of you feel that its in poor taste to do such an illegal thing but...to each his own...right? Well anyway this is what I was thinking:

On ebay I keep seeing these Digital Odometer Speedometer Reprogrammers but the thing is that they are pretty costly about $2500-$3000. I was thinking if we split it among 10 trusted people within a area (i.e. South Florida) we can have a group ownership over it and once the group is done using it we can just resell it on ebay and get our money back or if there is a huge response to this we can sell it to another group which would be organized through me.

I live in South Florida so if there is anyone out there interested in this email me at mkasim@adelphia.net and also let me know where your from. We need at least 10 members to pool the cash together then we can buy it and set a meet up and do the reprogramming.

Let me know what you think

Here is the link to the product

I'd be interested if I already didn't bring my '00 in for warranty work at 46K+ miles.

I dont have any opinions on what you do or want to do. But Acura has ways of finding out what the true mileage is. There are a couple of black boxes or one black box that will tell the dealer the real mileage or tell them that the odo was tampered with. You cannot reprogram the ecu and a piggy back will have to be taken out and put back on everytime you visit, which is bad since on our ecu's a piggy back will need to be soldered on. I think it is much harder than just rolling back the visible odo. Also if the dealer finds out you can find yourself in a whole host of trouble. You can loose your warranty and they might even report you to the authorities.

This is not a good thing to do! In California, we are required to have our vehicles smogged once every 2 years and they record your mileage into their database.:wow:
