How much should I pay for the type s?
I found one at a dealership for $24k... 2002 Aegean blue type s w/navi with 35k miles. Is this a good deal? How much should I get it down to? I checked the bluebook for it and its worth $26k. Also, any tips you guys suggest when I'm negotiating on the price? Let me know. Thanks.

Heck no bro, that DEFINITELY is overpriced. No more than $22K, not even a dime over. Well, at least that's how much it worth in the Houston market. People are dumping 2nd gen TL left and right on a daily basis here, especially after the transmission defect come into light, so don't worry about loosing out on this deal, THERE'RE other (many) TLs out there.

full KBB retail only really applies to about 5% of makes and models most are sold closer to private party value or even trade-in value especially if your talking a car with a history of major mechanical failure.

Here in NY the KBB Retail price is $22,400...I would look to pay closer to the private party price of $19,750. Or better yet get as close to the dealer trade in price of $17,750.

Getting it from the dealer makes it certified....so that's worth at least 1K. You can probably find one cheaper private party, but if you can get the dealer down to 22K, I would pick it up.
Oh yea, make sure you get the navi....i would never buy a TL without it.
