Tim-my mechanic from Acura does my work at his own shop and only charged me 200 to install all 4 Konis and the sways--deal of the century, but I've taken care of him in the past. I would not have done the mod at the crazy prices Acura charges--

2 hours per strut, 1-2 hours for sway bars.

That's 9-10 hours of labor at 64$/hour which comes up close to 640$ theoretically. I can't imagine they could charge anyone that much for the job, but that's what my mechanic told me Acura allocates for those jobs.

Let me try this again
A customer bought Comptech springs and Koni shocks from me, they were not happy with the ride after the install (thats a first) , after selling these to TL/CL owners all the time, I was pretty surprised.
I told him I felt it maybe the Koni shocks that was giving him alittle bit rougher ride then he wanted, but he wanted to take off both the springs and shocks (1 time charge instead of 2 time charge)
So I offered to pay for the uninstall of the shocks, that if he wasn't happy with the ride still, I would pay for his bill.

Well I got the bill, and I fell over in my chair! I emailed the customer back and said he paid way to much. Man I paid $100 bucks to get my Mugen installed!

I am trying to keep my word as best as I can, but I want to see what you guys pay

Thanks

I paid $350 for spring install and alignment at the dealership. Kind of high but they have a great service department.

The shock install should cost the same as a spring install. The entire strut assembly has to come out and be taken apart to change either spring, shock, or both. That's why when people get lowering spring its a good idea to change the shocks at the same time (if you were planning to get them in the future anyway) since you'll only have to pay for one install, instead of two. The average I know of spring/shock install is $200, but I'm not sure what the going rate would be at a dealership.

I'd say give him back $200 back AT MOST!!!, no matter how much he paid for it, btw your being too kind, he should have researched it more, its his fault for not liking the ride, people who do not know about the products they are going to buy should be penalized not you!

If your reading this, ITS YOUR FAULT!!!

Well 2 reasons, I talked to him on the phone and feel I amy have talked him into them,
and if it wasn't for my
offer, he could have (& would have) removed both the springs and shocks
together, for approximately the same cost.
