How much does a door cost?

I had body damage done to my drivers side door, and the damage is gonna cost almost $700. I ran over a piece of wood that hopped onto the road from a truck, and they consider it collision. Anyway, point is, my insurance deductible was set high, because i enver expected to have a "collision" and actually thought my accident was comprehensive, but whatever.

Anyway, how much would it cost for me to just buy a brand new door for my car?

Call the dealer to find out. You'll have to have them install it most probably.

With today's repair costs, a modest dent can cost $700 to fix.

Back when my car was practically brand new, someone bumped into my rear bumper and left a tiny impression the size of my thumbnail. The insurance company cut me a check for just under $300.

I seriously doubt you could get a used door in bolt-on condition (i.e., same color, no dents) for $700. A new door would have to cost much more, and then it would have to be painted.

New door "skin" unpainted will run you $250. WIth paint matching, removal of old skin, moving old parts to new skin, you're probably in the $700 range anyway.

The skin is #3, bottom right corner

What year is the car and where are you located. I know a scrapyard in Markham, Ontario that has 3 doors off a 1999 TL available. I think it's silver in color.
