Im checking to see what I should be expecting to pay for my "new" tranny. Mine shifts like hell and is obviously on its last legs. The Acura dealer at Weir Canyon ( Anaheim) quoted me at $3500. OUCH. Im sending this flag up to see about what I should be expecting to pay. Also, if anyone in southern cali has a good TL mechanic, please holla at me with a quickness. Thanks iin advance everybody.

 

Why would you need to pay for it? how many km do you have? have you checked with other dealerships to see if they will fix it? Many dealers have fixed trannys out of warranty date, this is a very common problem, the tranny going, but it is not common for the Acura dealer to be a stickler on replacing the tranny or sticking to the warranty duration.

Thanks for your reply. I have about 117k miles on the car. Tell me what to ask the dealer about this warrenty and if they have any out of warrenty trannies that they can replace mine current one with. I just got a quote from a tranny shop. They told me $1900 and it should take 4 days for it to get done.

 

Well i would first talk to the dealer, and 2nd i would contact Acura Client services. See if you can work a deal out with them. I had one replaced that way for free at 115k miles
