How Many Light Bulbs Does it Take To...?
How Many Light Bulbs Does it Take To Keep This Stupid Clock Visible at Night?
I replaced my clock light bulb about 2 months ago thanks to the DIY on this site
But tonight on the drive home I noticed I was once again, for lack of a better word, "timeless"
I plan on replacing it again, but what could make it go out so abruptly? It had such a short life, could it have been just a bad bulb? Or is something making this thing go out?
I honestly don't have a clue where to even start looking, any help would be appreciated. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I'm not too familiar with the 2G clock bulb. Is it a bulb of an LED? If it is a bulb, then it could of been the quality of the bulb and where you got it from. If it is an LED, then again it could be a bad LED, or resistor is bad if you used one.

Nope, It was originally replaced by an OEM bulb from the dealer. I dont see why it would go bad again in such a short amount of time

I did the Full LED conversion yesterday as per the LEDautomotive.com website. I ordered a full set of solderless to save time but it still took me all afternoon. Couple tricky things. The LED's were very snug fit so the ones that i had reversed polarity on (won't light up) took me a ton of time to pull out and flip 180 degrees. Also, when doing the gauge clusters, you pklace LED's in the stock bulb holders. Be careful, I bent the contacts because the LED was bigger than the old bulb and they wouldn't work. So I had to bend the contacts back and file down the bottom of the LED to make it fit.
Funniest thing of all, is that I tested evrey bulb twice before I put it all back together to make sure they lit up. But once I was finished, the clock didn't light up!
Haha, i'll have to rip it all apart again to redo that damned little bastard. Will post pictures of my conversion once it gets dark tonight.

I solved my problem for now...
Popped back open the dash, found the clock light bulb wasnt even in the clock it was sitting behind it on top of the cd holder thing. put it back in the clock and made sure it worked, which it did! it just seemed a little too lose. So to prevent me from opening the dash back up again i decided to lock it in place and secure it with a little bit of tape.
Until this thing burns out again ill replace it with a LED!
Thanks for all your help guys!
OOh and on another note, i believe it was my subwoofers that knocked it out of place! Too much good stereo listening caused this to rattle out of place, but i hope the tape will hold it in for now!

Speaking of bulbs, what kind of bulbs does the gauge cluster use (speedometer, odometer, temp, gas, needles). Are they T3 bulbs or T4 bulbs.

Are they those bulbs? Thanks guys.
