Post How long do new springs take to settle??

Just wondering If my springs will settle anymore? They have been on my car for less than a month. How long do they usually take to adjust to the car?

most springs take a month or two, some even six. my comptechs took about a month, they settled only a little bit more, maybe 1/2" if that?

Great....by that time I will need new tires...lol. Seriuosly, could it really drop another 1/2"?? That would be nice! Oh, and uh...whats the difference between 225/40/18 tires and 225/35/18. Would 35's make the wheel tuck in more?? I know..should be posting in tire and wheel. Oh well.

I agree. One of my friends didn't believe me, but in my prelude, final settling was about 6 months later. But the biggest drops would probably be seen earlier on (within a month), then lowest at around 6.

35 series tires will ride rougher and give you less rim protection against bends.

I guess it really depends on how stiff the springs are. The looser the springs, the faster and lower they'll settle. Typically you aren't gonna get any more than 1/2" of settling. If you do, those are some pretty soft springs. I got H&Rs and they settled in about a week and no more than 1/4".

I had aftermarket springs on my old car (accord) and ben (mechanic for carboy) said my springs would take a year to settle in and yes once they're settled in, your car is lowered a little bit more due to the cars weight and i think from the crazy a*s roads here in houston...
