How does Paintless dent repairs work?

Folks:

Has anyone seen how these paintless dent repair shops work? If you have dents in the middle of the door, how do they get to it to fix it? Do they remove the inside panels??

They have to get behind the dent to "massage" it out, so they'll probably remove the door panel.

sutlTL is right. They have to remove the door trim panel and gently push it out from the inside with the dent Kit.

The CAN remove the door panel. But they can also put a wedge between the windows and the door. Then they fit a metallic rod-like tool down there and massage it out.

Dent wizard did a nice job on a ding and a crease - they put a protective cover on the glass, put the window down and leverage off the window to push out.

They charge by the size of the dent - I had a dent that was pushed out, rather than in, and they couldn't get it ironed out, but they didn't charge me for it either.

Give them a shot - the wife just picked up a ding in the TL-S last week, so looks like I'll be going back soon

I once qot a quote from a dent removal service for a dent I had in my Honda Accord. It was like $350 - and no guarentee. This was in 1996, and I think this concept was really just taking off. I wound up having a body shop repaint it for about the same amount.

Dings or Dents?

No way they need to take apart your car, especially the door panel. If they have to, walk away; because a) there's an easier way and b) that takes time and time/labor is [more] money.

I took my CL in with about 5 dings and 45 minutes and $85 later, they were gone. I'm going back every Spring.

YMMV
