Unhappy scratch magnet

my poor car seems to be impossible to keep.. i was just out washing it and after i was done i noticed two scratches on the passenger fender. is there anything i can do to my car to help prevent scratches besides parking as far away from civilization as possible? i can't put wax on my driver's side for 30-45 days because i just had it repainted from a key scratch. Should i bother putting it on the rest of the car? will that help?

I feel your pain. I try my best also, but some people just have no respect for someone elses property, money and time.

The only thing I use which works somewhat is Turtlewax color match wax with teh chip sticks. It wont get rid of them completely, but it gets them much less noticeable. I just use it in the scratched areas. I use Finish First which is like Zaino for the rest of my car.

The car dings and scratches way too easily. When you examine the paint carefully it does not seem smoothly finished. My car is only 5 months old and I have 9 dings and a severe scratch on my door.

It is at the shop right now getting those dings fixed and a new paintjob.

How can it be that with all the complaints we are seeing on our forum...that there is not even a bulletin with Acura about this paint quality?????

A few of us even sent letters to Acura...and yet no bulletin?

For those of you experiencing problems, please call customer service and send a letter....a bulletin would really help our argument.

The number is 800-382-2238

Only by getting Acura to address this problem will do any good.

thejavagod, You getting the WHOLE CAR painted again?

I have 2 small chips from a 13hr road trip, and some light scratched on the trunk led that don't go through the clear. A small ding on the pass side you can only see at an angle. Car is hardly 2 months old. Already put 3500 miles on it, though that should slow down a lot now. Paint does seem very sensative.

Cool

There are two solutions:

(1) Park waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy away from everybody else (at night make sure you park near a light)

(2) Don't drive anywhere near any large trucks, especially gravel trucks. There should be a law that they have to cover those. I am so sick and tired of hearing rocks hitting my car.

A clear bra can help to some extent against minor things that may cause scratches.

I have 4 huge dings on my rear driver side door, and the paint has come off. On the passenger side There is a huge chip, and the passenger rear there is another 3-4 tiny dents. I had the car painted about 6 months ago...time for another paint job...this time...sparkling blue...o yea..

I have minor dings and scratches all over the front of my 5000 mile car. Yes, the Acura paint quality is terrible, but I have managed to keep the number of dings down by doing what lonny said, parking WAY far away from all the cars, and staying away from big trucks.

I agree, the police should be pulling those trucks over and giving them littering citations if they spew rocks onto the road. They should be held responsible for the damage done to other cars.
