On a scale of 1-10 I'd give each an 8. I'm surprised value isn't there, because it would lower my rating. Resale has tanked on my '00, and that was unexpected.

I can't say resale has tanked on my '02. I could still sell it for $16k with 42k miles, and it was bought new for $28k. That's still well over 50% of value after 3 years, right in line with some of the best retained value cars, such as the Accord.

Wait a bit, then. My '00 with 110K is valued at $8800, 50% less than yours and only two years older. MY advice: don't hold on to it much longer. The numbers speak for themselves. Resale sucks on this car that stickered for $30,400 when new and now worth less than $9,000.

Performance=8
Handling=7
Comfort=9
Looks=10
Sound (radio)=2
Modability = 7 (can't really answer this too well, only have an icebox. But from what I've seen, it's not that bad for a luxury sedan)

110k in 5 years is high. 22k miles per year. Let's look at value for one with 15k per year.

2000 TL non-nav with 75,000 book value private party:

$11,740 in Atlanta, GA in Good condition. That's roughly 42% of original sale value (the car might have stickered for $30k but sold for prolly $28k)

Resale isn't so bad on these.
