How Do You Remove Cup-holder in Backseat Armrest?

Car: 2003 TL Type-S
Question: How do you remove the Cupholder that is located in the Backseat Armrest w/o breaking it?

well according to the exploded diagram online it only looks to be held in with clips internally. so brute force seems appropriate. although i would be worried about breaking it if i didn't absolutely have to remove it. looks like it should come straight up though. try wrapping a screwdriver in a cloth and prying it up from under the edges.

Kool thanks, I tried pulling straight up, with my fingers but i was pulling so hard i thought it was going to break. Im going to try getting one side up first.

It is held in by clips, you will have to pull the back side of it up first to remove the whole thing. So if you are facing the backseat, push in and pull up on the side furthest away from you. It will come up and you can remove the otherside.

it will be alot easier of you just take the whole armrest out and do it outside of the car. it comes out easily
