How do you properly wax a car anyway?

All you guys talking about this Zaino product makes me wonder if I should do something with my car.

I got a new '03 TLS about a month ago and have done nothing to it. I waxed an older car and basically all I did was:

Wash the car, dry with shammy.
Applied Mothers Wax in a small section, waited till it hardened.
Wiped it off with a Terry cloth.
Repeat, all over the car.

Is that all there is to it when it comes to using Zaino? The problem I had when I waxed my car is that I got some wax on some black trimming on the car and the wax left a haze that I couldn't get off. I'm afraid to wax my new car now cause of this. Do you guys tape off the black trim (i.e. rubber window seals, etc), or are you just real careful?

Dirk Diggler.

It'd be easier for you did a quick search on "Zaino" since there's a few good write-ups on it.

But, to answer your questions... No, that isn't all there is with the Zaino product. It's a little more involved - but it's very easy to apply and remove. And, No, we don't tape off the black trim. It's actually ok for Zaino to get on non-painted items (in my opinion).

Good luck!

Jumpin, Yaron2, are you in a bad mood or what! The guy comes for a little friendly advice and you jump all over him.

Not everybody has tried all the products out there and quite frankly, applications of various waxes can vary significantly.

Enough said.
