how do i convert the "this is not an ashtray", ashtray to a this is an ashtray. i feel more confident in ripping out panels on my integra but not on the tl-s. i checked the DIY area and there is nothing there.

So you want to take that sign off and put one that says "this is an ashtray"? Doesn't seem like something that requires a DIY...

the felt liner just pulls out. You then have to buy the liner that goes into it.

 

thats it. i had no idea i thought that i had to change out the entire ashtray with a new one?

I believe there is a replacement part that acura sells that you can just swap out. You can also get the cigarette lighter as well.

i ordered the cigarete lighter and ashtray replacement from acura, with all this clearance on the second gen tL's accessories going on now it cost me 10$ for both. it is just not fair that every door has an ashtray in the handle but the driver gets a "this is not an ashtray" coin tray.

business card holders? why would you have bussiness card holders in the back two doors? the cadilacs had ashtray's in all the doors, and there is the ridges in the side of those ashtrays to put your smoke out on.

 

 

Why would you wanna smoke in your car anyway. It makes the car smell like an 80 year old smoking womens breath.

 

To install the lighter, you have to pull the console up through the head unit- not too bad a job- takes about an hour and a half.

The 03 already has the light built in- my old 01 CL did not, and the kit came with a new pigtail harness.

When I did the TL-S 03, I used an Advance Auto lighter kit- just be sure you get the short knob so it'll fit inside the spring-hinge cover.

Since I did all this I quit smoking- bummer.

 

i don't think i will be quiting smoking and if i do smoke it is in the city and not on the freeway, i hate all the ash that gets in the car. i did get the short lighter option so i can keep it looking clean. the reason for the ashtray is my girlfriend who does not smoke thinks its stupid if all the doors have ashtrays but the driver can't even have an ashtray if they wanted to smoke. plus ozium is my best friend.

When i did smoke (i quit 8 years ago to buy the TL) i would NEVER use the ashtray. It makes the car smell worse. Just use the window.

 

Plus I hope your not only doing this cause your girlfriend thinks its stupid that thers no ashtray for the driver. If we all listened to our girlfriends we would never be on this site, and our cars would be full if girly shit.

 

 

i use the window but i want to have the ashtray for the roaches that i want to keep. what i was saying is that my girlfriend is agreeing with me that that coin tray is stupid and could be used for better things. i already have a coin tray it is above the radio. it is bad enough that you cant even smoke in your yard in dublin but soon you will not be able to even smoke in your car.

 

If your talkin about that kinda smokin then I take everything back. That kinda of smokin makes your car smell like a tropical rainforest...... in columbia. and WTF are you talkin about not being able to smake in your car. You never could smoke herd in your car or anywhere for that matter.

 

i also smoke cigaretts but not in my car. the city of dublin, CA, just passed an ordinace that states that you can no longer smoke in your own backyard and soon to come you can not smoke in your car. i will be quiting smoking in about a month. also i would like to come and meet all the people at the next meeting. i have been to a few integra meetings but my integra is nothing special it is just my daily driver that can keep up on my cousins CL type s (stock of course, about two car lenghts away) speaking of wich how do i search to see if his retarded ass has posted anything. Like i said i am new to this forum and i just recently purchased a:

and loving every day i drive the car.

oh ive actually never sat in the passenger or back seats, and i only looked in that thing one time and it didnt look like an ashtray and i read something about business car holders somewhere and thats where the thought came from
and since im a non smoker it didnt bother me
