How to clean speaker fabric cover??

Hello all:

The speaker fabric covers on my TL have gotten noticeably dirty. I am attaching a pic to point that out.

I was wondering as to how to clean the fabric without damaging the speakers and without having to remove the fabric from the door panel.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

I've seen discussions of this previously. I don't think it's dirt at all but just the dark speaker cone material showing through the holes in the fabric.

The speaker grills on my 1999 TL look exactly the same.

well like the others have said its just the cut out for the speaker........as for cleaning it i've always done it with a microfiber towel (because other towels always leave lent on the fabrics)......and some blue coral carpet spray sprayed onto the towel.....for stains.....and a brush and vaccum for regular cleaning.....

sure if you go custom but nothing thats a direct replacement of stock....all you would have to do is remove the door panel do some cutting to remove that piece then cut whatever metal you want to use for it.....should look fine if you take your time on it.....and it would make a good diy....

mine has the same "stain" and all my interior is black, so that helps. It doesn't show that much, but if I look closer I can see it. I if you do something like that, get some aftermarket speakers too, or it will look very getto.
