So, a week ago today, I got my 2000 TL back from a brand spanking new paint job. Had my brand new 17" RonJon Servos with Falken rubber put on in the afternoon, and the next day, put in my new Eclipse AV8533 screen. This morning while sitting still at Quick Trip, I get hammered from someone in a Dodge pickup. She hit me on the left front corner. I did not even want to get out of the car to see how bad it was. I'm fine, she's fine but, my car will be headed back to the shop for another extended stay. I probably would not have been so upset if I had not just got it back a week ago from being in the shop to be painted. I even had talked with my mechanic yesterday about the cost to install some new headers. Oh well.

Does the outcome of the hit grant you access to a FREE set of headers and maybe a bit more? I mean, if you were the slightestly injured, that is...

Thanks for all the replies. It was not even the accident as much as I have only had my "new" car back for a week. I have pics of my car with the new RonJon's, just not very good pics. I will try and take some damage pics this evening and post them.


To answer a couple of questions:

Yes, I was sitting still waiting for some cars to pass so I could pull into a parking spot and whamm. I saw it coming, laid on the horn and just braced for impact.

Yes, I did paint the car factory color. Monterey Pacific Blue.

Chicks can't drive man. You can't really be mad at her. It's like getting mad a a dog for chasing a cat. They don't know any better. I've been hit twice in the Civic. Both by chicks.

dude, and i thought i had it bad when i got egged after my new paintjob. The eggs baked right through the paint and the shells chipped like no other. Sorry to hear about your accident.

2) would choosing a diffirent color have cost more?

I really did not want to spend over $2,000 on a custom paint job when I may only have the car another year or two. My wife surprised me for my birthday with a $1,250 paint job from Maaco. I was a little skeptical about them but, it looked great and comes with a 5 year warranty.

I really do not know about the cost of switching colors. Seems like it would be more work but, who knows.

I am taking my car this afternoon to have the estimate done for the damage and see when they can get to it. Keep your fingers crossed.

 

I uploaded a couple of pics to this site. It got dark and that is all I could do tonight. I got the estimate. $4,400. Glad it was not my fault.
