How to ask to replace the Tranny?

I just found out that there might be a problem with my tranny now. It's not like it's not function normally but sometimes when it shifts gears, the car shakes! And it was kinda slow when I shift to R or D from P, u know, like have to wait there for one or two seconds before the gear is actually in! Are these reasons good enough to ask for tranny replacement?

I know we 2000 model have extend warranty on tranny now and I know lots of folks here got their tranny changed. What should I tell the dealership?
Thanks again!

Not sure what the shake is. Doesit only happen at idle and does the Tach drop real low when it happens?

The delay before it goes into gear could be a symptom of the tranny. When mine died, it took 3 or 4 seconds for the car to go into reverse when i was manuvering it at the dealership while dropping it off.

my car often looses rpm's while im driving at times. i had it for about a year now and it did this about 7 times so far.

also today, i noticed that while at a stop at a light, the car felt like it had hick ups. like it was having sudden burst's. weird.

and also what is it, i am at a stop with the a/c on and the car lunges forward, wtf!

man this is not why i bought a acura. i might as well gotten a g35c.

Your going to have to go the dealer and have them diagnose it. They wont replace it otherwise.

I don't know if this means anything at all, but my mom has a 2001 Chevy Suburban that had the same problem a few months ago. Only it would go into gear fine, but idle very strange and lunge on its own at idle. Sometimes the engine would rev on it's own too. We had to have the computer for the engine/transmission or w/e changed out....

And this is pretty much unrelated but my girlfriend's old car, up until she got rid of it would rev at stop lights on it's own. It was annoying, but hilarious. . . Her dad kept resetting the throttle box to make it idle faster to fix the problem, but he had to do that about once every week or two. But this was a beat up 91 Olds...

And one of my best friends has a 91 Acura Integra that, if you turn on the a/c at idle, the whole car shakes like a wet dog for a few seconds then it slowly begins to quit, or you give it gas and it quits completely. He had a big wreck and shoved his radiator through his engine and blew up his a/c, so it's probably a very understandable problem for his car....

Chein,

Mine did the same thing. it took 2-3 seconds before the gear kicked in. I took it to the dealer and they first replaced the tranny fluid. Then they said if the problem still persists, we'll replace your tranny in which they did. No problems whatsoever from them either. Good luck!
