HOT air under car on passenger side...
Hi, a passenger in my car yesterday pointed out as she was leaving that there was alot of hot air as she left. i didnt think anything of it, but today after riding my car only for about 25-30 min, i parked, left the engine running, and checked under the driver side there wasnt any noticable air, but on the passenger side there was definitely noticable hot air....
is this normal? I suppose if it were normal, i'd never have noticed since if im in the car, im driving it! If it's not normal, what can it be?
thanks
oh yea, its a 2001 TL

If it was an exhaust leak, you would hear it as well as feel it. With the car in park, have someone throttle the gas as you lay down on the ground next to the passenger side of the car. Feel or hear anything?

If there's a ticking noise, then it's an exhaust leak.
Like NSXNEXT said, have someone give it a little gas while the car is parked, and check it out. It will be pretty obvious. While you're at it, put your hand underneath the car and try to feel where the hot air is coming from.

just wondering...can it simply be the hot air that the engines fan is passing, while trying to cool down the car? hehe, can any of you go for a 30 min drive and put the car in park and see if you feel any heat?
i just went aorund the block a few times and didnt get any heat, but for past two days, a 30 min drive was enough to cause hot air blowing. Yarg!

its normal..... i get it in my first gen TL all the time when the weather is hot.... its just that the engine get very hot and the engine heat escapes from near the wheel well..... as im stepping out either the passenger or drives side... i can feel it.... but it never hapened in the winter time...... if it was an exhaust leak.... (like i just had) you would definately hear it as soon as u start the engine and while ur driving... exhaust leak cost me $50 to fix at the junk yard... i went to meineke... they wanted to replace my whole muffler and all that crap... for 500... when my muffler and everything is perfect..... but yea... its just hot air escaping... thats all!

HOT air under car on passenger side...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, a passenger in my car yesterday pointed out as she was leaving that there was alot of hot air as she left.
My initial reaction when I read the first sentence was she trying to tell you, in a nice way, that she had farted. However, after reading the rest, I tend to agree with the other posters.

its nothig to worry about. it was probably air movement from the belts on that side causing warm air to seem like its circulating out from that side, that or the radiator fan was on causing that air to be moved.
