Question Horrible hiccups after sparkplug change???

I changed my spark plugs yesterday because I'm now at 102,000 miles in my '99 TL. When I first started the car after the change everything seemed fine. But after about a 20 mile drive up 85 I started to feel my car huccup. I thought it was a flat tire at first but then realized that it was the engine. Could I have did something wrong? Are the plugs misfiring? How do I correct? I bought the NKG iridiums.

The Honda garage replaced my plugsduring a tune up years ago. I got in the car started it up and turned around and went back into the garage. It was missing on one cylinder. One of the plugs were bad. Yes, the new NKG plug was BAD! Probably your problem unless one or several of the wires aren't seated on the plug properly. Check plugs for signs of misfireing. Put one of the old one's in after you find it and see how it runs.

Did the check engine light come on?

Well first I would try the easy things:

1 - Retighten all the plugs (1/4 turn past hand tight)
2 - Retighten all the coil packs (tighten the allen that holds each one down)

If it's still hiccuping, go out and buy 1 new plug and start replacing one at a time till you find the culprit.

I just changed my plugs on sat and sunday. On monday I had a problem. if you see my thread from monday night....i had something similar. You can go to an auto shop and use one of their computers for free. You hook it up to that lil area below the radio.

It'll give you an error code and tell you which cylinder is misfiring. In my case it was cylinder #1. And in my case...my misfiring was from a loose connection.

I'd drive over to a store...spend 15-30min and you'll have a clearer idea of what is wrong.

Thats good info man!

NSXNEXT, yes my check engine light came on. I didn't realize that the computer diagnostic at like autozone would tell me which cylinder was misfiring. That takes a lot of the guess work out of it. Can the misfire harm the engine if I leave it as is for a couple of days? Does gas consumption increase? How are the cylinders numbered. What I mean is if say cylinder number one is located on the front drivers side plug, number 2 ins the middle front and so on?

It can foul the plug, thus having to replace it.

Get it checked out quickly.

I just went out and did it on the fly because my car seems to not have as much pep and idols a little rough. I think it's worth it if you take your time and even if I do have to go to Autozone and have them tell me which plug is misfiring then it will still be worth it because it should be easy to correct.

i don't know what the gapping is for the plug on this car but take them all out, make sure they are all gapped properly, then reinstall. i think the manual to the car gives you the specs.

I need some major help. This morning I pulled ALL the plugs and swapped them back out but the engine is still jumping, hesitating when giving the car gas, Check engine light flashing while on the highway and trying to accellerate quickly, and not down shifting properly from 4th while on the highway and trying to speed up. None of this was going on until Tuesday after I changed my plugs. What is going on?

I forgot to also mention that when I took it to Autozone to have the codes scanned it came back with P1399 but didn't give me the code that states a specific misfire.
