Recently, I have been noticing my hood keep opening by itself. Why is this happening?

 

is it actually latching shut? make sure the latch itself isnt stuck and dirty.

 

It is latching shut. Isn't it crazy. It happened to me at least 3-4 times.

 

The latch apparently isn't fully engaging.
Try cleaning and adjust it for a tighter fit as necessary.

 

Do you feel resistance when pulling the release handle ?
I would try some WD-40 on the latch and cable, if that didn't work then I wouldn't take a chance driving it at high speeds or at all until you get another hood latch or know exactly whats causing it, Had a terrible experience with a hood opening up before.

 

I will spray some wd-40.

 

That would be my guess, most likely from dirt/grease/grime
