I just bought a 2002 TL Type-S on the 8th. I noticed a hole inside the lower compartment of the center console armrest. It leads forward into the cup holder area. Is this hole supposed to be there or is there a part missing? Here's a photo:

 

Nothing missing homie. It's like that on all TL's. It's a pass-through. Very usefull when you need to charge your cell phone or IPOD. Just plug in your cord in the console. Run it through the hole and BAMM!! Phone is charging in the cupholder.

Hmm, I didn't think of that. That seems like a pretty big hole to run a wire. I'm glad nothing is missing. I think I might try to find something to cover up the lower portion of it though. I like to throw change, receipts, etc in there and I don't want them to slide forward into the hole. Thanks for your help.

 

I thought it was a hole to allow your pet ferret/mouse/hamster to run through during travel.

 

uch...i wish the 3G TL had this....

 

i also use it to charge my phone. no idea what it really is there for

 

i plug my phone charger there and push the wire through to the cupholders so i can keep my phone charging without the wires showing.
