i noticed some of my stuff in my trunk was getting wet
so i pulled up the trunk mat
and the spare tire compartment was full of water
it was like a big bowl
someone forgot to put drain holes
O.o
i scooped/syphoned the water out then drilled holes so it would drain
but has anyone else had this problem
and also would like to know how the water got in
is the trunk leaking that bad o.O

 

You drilled holes in the bottom of your spare compartment? If water's getting in there it probably from the rear lights/weather seal/rear window.

The car should not need drain holes, because water should not get in there. You putting holes in your trunk probably just made things worse.

 

 

Well I had that one day but then again it was after I did my tail lights but now that you mention it, I might go check up on it also.

 

If the 2nd Gen is like the 3rd Gen, then it might be the sunroof drain tubes. There is one tube on each side (left side and right side).
